Flashback: Motorola DYNA

Motorola's DynaTAC (Dynamic Adaptive Total Area Coverage) 8000X was the world's first commercially released mobile phone. Measuring 13 inch x 1.75 inch x 3.5 inch, this cell phone was released in 1983 with a price tag of $3,995. Motorola spent over $100-million and 15 years developing the technology. Available in three different color combinations including tan/gray, tan, and dark gray, the DynaTAC 8000X featured an LED display and up to 30-minutes of talk time when fully charged.
