7 Ways to Slash Stress

Chronic stress seems to be our national disease, especially these days. Millions suffer from symptoms of stress: nervous tension, restless sleep, difficulty focusing and remembering, irritability, and health complications. Generally speaking, stress speeds up aging. Learn the ways to manage stress, and you will look and feel younger.

1. Start your day with meditation
Spend time every day in meditative relaxation, with calming music if you desire. Start with five minutes and work your way to 15 or 20 minutes each day. Meditation is your number one way to reduce the output of stress hormones and avoid adrenal exhaustion, serious threats to your health.

Try this Stress Release Meditation: Breathe consciously, relax, and with each exhale focus on relaxing each area of your body in sequence, starting from the top of your head and moving all the way down to your toes.

2. Manage your mood with diet and herbs
Chinese Medicine considers the liver to be the center of your emotions. To allay stress and balance your emotions, keep your liver healthy and happy:

• Every day, eat lots of green leafy vegetables, barley grass, seaweed - anything high in chlorophyll - to keep the liver in good health.

• Take 500 mg dandelion daily for a month or longer to cleanse the liver and help release built-up anger.

• Take 400 mg white peony root daily for 1 to 3 months to soothe the liver and balance your mood.

• Schisandra berry protects the liver from chemicals and calms the spirit. For emotional anxiety, take 200 mg daily for a month.

Take these herbs anytime during the day and before bed in tea or capsule form. All the herbs are available from health food stores and Eastern medicine practitioners. Many of my patients have had remarkable results with Calm-Fort Elixir, an all-natural formulation of herbs to calm your spirit. For more information.

3. Suppress stress with positive thinking
Instead of letting your thoughts run wild with anxiety, say affirmations to yourself, such as "I can handle the tasks I have ahead of me. I enjoy my responsibilities and fulfill them well." In fact, repeating positive affirmations can actually suppress the cortisol that the adrenal gland releases in times of stress - leaving you peaceful and calm.

4. Get stress out of your head and on paper
Writing in a journal every day can help you release thoughts and emotions that are causing you stress. Write from the position of an observer, recording your thoughts without any judgments. Just write it down so that you can see clearly what is going on inside. The next step is to identify the source of any anger or stress so you can begin to make changes. Looking into your thoughts give you the opportunity to gain insight into your feelings and reflect the underlying issues.

5. Unblock tension with exercise

The constant pressures of your job and family can lead to chronically elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which is a direct cause of muscle and joint pain. Clenched jaw? Lump in your throat? Chronic back and neck pain? These can all be manifestations of stress in your body. Release physical tension and clear these emotional blockages by using massage therapy, exercise, yoga, tai chi, or qi gong to get the circuits moving.

6. A Retreat to Avoid Burnout
Overloading your brain is a recipe for stress and health problems. Information overload is particularly harmful at midlife because we have less tolerance for stress, which can contribute to high blood pressure and heart disease. Press the "reset" button on yourself. Give yourself a retreat from the stresses of modern life. Take one day out of the seven-day week to minimize "screen" time. Don't watch TV, don't check email, and don't look at the news - it will be there tomorrow, and after a day of rest, you will be refreshed and ready to look at them.

7. Perspective from the Natural World
Use nature to reduce stress. Go outside, hike in the woods, walk on the beach, anything that puts you in contact with the natural world. It is difficult to feel stressed when you are surrounded by nature's abundance of vitality and wonder.

May you live long, live strong, and live happy!

What is Melamine (Poisoned Milk) ?

1. What really is poisoned milk?

It is the milk powder mixed with "MELAMINE"

What is Melamine use for? It is an industrial chemical use in the production of melawares.

It is also used in home decoration.
"US resistant board"

Do you understand? Melamine is use in industrial production, it cannot be eaten!!!

2. Why is Melamine added in milk powder?

The most important nutrien in milk is protein. And Melamine has the same protein that contains "NITROGEN".

Adding Melamine in milk reduces milk content and it is cheaper then milk so it lowers capitalization. It can give the business man more profit!!.

Below is Melamine, doesn't it look like milk?
It doesn't have any smell, so it cannot be detected.

3. When was it discovered?

year 2007 US cats and dogs died suddenly, they found that pet food from China contains Melamine.

Starting 2008, in China, an abnormal increase in infant cases of kidney stones.

August 2008 China Sanlu Milk Powder tested with Melamine.

Sept 2008 New Zealand gov't ask China to check this problem.
Sept 21, 2008 Lots of food products in Taiwan tested with Melamine.

4. What happened when Melamine is digested?

Melamine remains inside the kidney. It forms into stones blocking the tubes. Pain will be eminent and person cannot urinate.Kidney will then swell.

Although surgery can remove the stones, but it will cause irreversible kidney damage. It can lead to loss of kidney function and will require kidney dialysis or lead to death because of uremia.

What is dialysis? In fact, it should be called "blood washing". It is filtering all of the body's blood into the machine and then go back to the body.

The whole process takes 4 hours and it is necessary to dialysis once for every 3 days for the rest of your life.

Here is a dialysis centre.

Large dialysis centre

a small hole is required in the arm to insert the sub-dialysis catheter.

Why is it more serious in babies? Because the kidney is very small and they drink a lot of milk powder.

Here is baby undergoing dialysis.

China currently has 13,000 infants hopitalized.

It does not matter how much a human being took Melamine. The important points is "It cannot be EATEN".

5. What are the foods to be avoided?

Foods that contain dairy products should be avoided.

Remember: Foods with creamer or milk should be avoided.

6. Which companies are affected?

Hereunder are the companies affected with Melamine

7. What do we do next?

Avoid the above foods for at least six months.

If you have snack bar, restaurant or coffee shops.
Stop selling dairy products for the meantime.

If you have infants at home, change to mother's milk or find other substitute.

Finally, share this information with friends so they will understand the risk of milk poisoning.

Are you Busy???

An elderly man in Penang calls his son in New York and says,

'I hate to ruin your day son, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are getting a divorce; 35 years of marriage... and that much misery is enough!'

'Dad, what are you talking about?' the son screams.

'We can't stand the sight of each other any longer,' the old man says.

'We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Hong Kong and tell her!'

Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone.

'Like heck they're getting divorced,' she shouts, 'I'll take care of this.'

She calls Penang immediately, and screams at the old man, 'You are not getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then , don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR??' and she hangs up.

The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. 'Okay', he says, 'It's all set. They're both coming for Diwali and paying their own airfare!!'

MORAL:

No man/woman is busy in this world all 365 days.

The sky is not going to fall down if you take few days LEAVE and meet your dear ones.

OFFICE WORK IS NOT EVERYTHING IN LIFE and MONEY MAKING IS NOT EVERYTHING IN LIFE. AFTER ALL WE WORK FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

Wife should be like this : (wife and mother)

Kindly read till end and just spare 1 minute only: Thanks

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie.

She said I love you but I know this other woman loves you more then I, and would love to spend some time with you.

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, Who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.

"What's wrong, are you well," she asked? My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.

"I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you," I responded. "Just the two of us."

She thought about it for a moment, and then said, "I would like that very much."

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date.

She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary.

She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's.

"I told all my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed, "she said, as she got into the car. "They can't wait to hear about our meeting".

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. ( I remembered the old days when I was two-three year old how she use to catch my arm).

After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Large print. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips, her eyes wet.

"It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small," she said.

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation - nothing
extraordinary, but catching up on recent events of each other's
life. We talked so much that we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, "I'll go out with you
again, but only if you let me invite you." I agreed.

"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home. "Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined," I answered. ( I was deeply thankfull to her ).

A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It
happened so suddenly that I did to do anything for her.

Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I had dined.

An attached note said: "I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son" & I am thankful to your wife.

At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: "I LOVE YOU!" and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve.

Nothing in life is more important than God and your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till "some other time."
**********

Never wait for tommorrow:

Today when your child, wife, friends demands from you say clothes, toys, books, movie, going out for restaurant, holiday, weekend though you have it or you dont have it (time/money) but some how you fullfill their demand.

Have you ever thought to take your parents for a ride, movie, restaurant, holiday, weekend.

If you have ever thought about your parents then you are next to God.

'Wow', $5 Million Bra-zilian

WOMEN"S underwear can be pricey, but this is just ridiculous.

ADRIANA LIMA is pictured here wearing the world's most expensive bra, costing a whopping $5 Million (
£2.9 Million).

Pricey ... Adriana Lima in $5million bra

Apparently it contains 3,575 black diamonds, 117 certified one-carat round diamonds and 34 rubies, adorned with nearly 3,900 stunning gems.

Plus, more importantly, it's designed for maximum cleavage.

However if it's not quite your bag, take a look at some pics of the Victoria's Secret babe in relatively normal underwear below.

Adriana stripped off for an ad promoting Victoria's Secret's new fragrance, VS Wish

Bosses can be happy with the fine job she's done, though rarely does she let them down.

Whether her sexy poses will entice ladies to purchase the perfume remains questionable.

But at least her male fans can enjoy looking...

Ghost caught on tape....

Oil prices dropped below $70 a barrel

Opec on Thursday brought forward to next week an emergency meeting to consider a cut in production after oil prices dropped to less than $70 a barrel for the first time in more than a year on worries about a global recession.

The move coincided with fresh calls from those countries within the oil producing cartel that are heavily dependent on oil revenues for their budgets – most notably Iran, the organisation’s perennial hawk – to cut output. Ecuador and Qatar also supported slashing production.

Even Saudi Arabia, the cartel’s most powerful member, which initially opposed the 500,000 barrel a day cut announced last month and is close to the US, appears to be in agreement that the group needs to reduce its production.

The kingdom, which boosted its output by far more than any other Opec member when prices were high and supply was struggling to keep up with demand, has already cut some shipments, according to ship tracking data.

Opec had said that it would need to pump about 31.3m barrels a day in the first quarter of next year to balance the market, well below its current output of 32.2m b/d, suggesting that the cartel sees a need to cut output by almost 1m b/d.

Ben Dell, of Sanford C. Bernstein a New York research firm, said Opec would need to make an additional cut of 1m barrels a day in order to avoid a glut in the market in 2009.

“Such a large cut in production is only likely to come from Saudi Arabia as the other Opec members are levered to higher oil prices in order to maintain their spending programmes,” said Mr Dell in a report.

The meeting will be the biggest test in more than a decade of Opec’s resolve and power to form a cohesive unit to stop tumbling oil prices.

The group will have to act decisively in its round of cuts because otherwise it runs the risk of pushing down prices even further as traders write it off as toothless.

Opec’s decision to meet next Friday came after investors sold commodities en masse amid worries that the credit crunch had mutated into a global toxic economic crisis that would damp demand for raw materials.

In its monthly report, the cartel said that even if governments were successful in unfreezing credit markets in the near future, “the fallout on the real economy from the financial market headwinds is expected to be considerable”.

Oil prices in New York on Thursday fell to a 14-month low of $68.57 a barrel after the US department of energy reported a large drop in the country’s oil consumption. It said total US oil demand averaged in the past four weeks at 18.6m barrels a day, 8.9 per cent below the same period a year ago.

In late afternoon trading, West Texas Intermediate crude oil, the US benchmark, was $3.37 down to $71.30 a barrel, while Brent, the European reference, was $4.21 down to $66.59 a barrel.

Misery Behind The Splendour Architectural Dubai

As we know, Dubai has attracted worldwide attention through innovative real estate projects and sports events. This increased attention, coinciding with its emergence as a world business hub, has also highlighted human rights issues concerning its largely foreign
workforce.

As you know, we always wonder at the grandeur of Dubai's buildings: the tallest buildings in the world, the longest bridges, and the weirdest architecture imaginable. But we never saw the other side, the misery behind the splendour, the 300,000 illegal almost-slaves who live crammed into labor camps, working—and often dying or getting injured—for a few dollars a day. Fortunately, the Guardian's correspondant Ghaith Abdul-Ahad reminds us about it

All of these men are part of a huge scam that is helping the construction boom in the Gulf. Like hundreds of thousands of migrant workers, they each paid more than £1,000 to employment agents in India and Pakistan. They were promised double the wages they are actually getting, plus plane tickets to visit their families once a year, but none of the men in the room had actually read their contract. Only two of them knew how to read.

Once they arrive in the United Arab Emirates, migrant workers are treated little better than cattle, with no access to healthcare and many other basic rights. The company that sponsors them holds on to their passports - and often a month or two of their wages to make sure that they keep working. And for this some will earn just 400 dirhams (£62) a month.
